96.5 Family FM will be required to submit

and you will be playing your part to help 96Five get the full-time licence they

from Nagasaki
writes: Battered Fish

Nine for those of you who didn't know. Vent
your anger at a this once well known trio via -toupee@toupeerecords.com.
There was a tie for second place in the names department - "I can't
believe it's not Battered" and "The Amazing Jeremy Bennett
Movement". How Leo Nine beat out these contenders is unknown - watch

Steven Dix
update - 2000 - A Great Year!
Firstly big thanks to all the radio, press and video shows that are supporting me. Last year we had some great promo from
the Aussie Post to heaps of airplay on radio stations around the country plus videos on
CMT
- now called 'One Country'
on Foxtel. Also a support spot with Keith Urban (who
has been no 1. on country airplay charts in the US recently and is
currently in the mainstream top 40) - a big thanks to greg and marius for that one.
We got a song 'She Didn't Know' on the
ABC
compile 'Open Road'
and of course the album was released later in the year by Stallion / Warner Music. Well, It's a new year and we have plenty of new material for a new album. And when $10,000 magically falls out of the sky, I will record them. I have found my new songs are kind of
John Mellencamp in style - sort of like 'Heart n
Me'.
But, until then, there could still be another video or two made off 'Restless', so you may see some more clips this year (we might even get the chance to put them on the website).
Of course this all costs a lot of money, so it all takes time. See you round! Warm Regards, Steven. www.stevendix.com.
18.03.01
- Yet another name change? Local outfit Squipplepippy
have noticed a recent rush of band name changes and have decided not to
miss out. They are considering changing their name to Battered
Fish.
17.03.01
- Dependant change their name. In true Battered
Fish style, local Christian band Dependant
have just announced a name change for the band. The 3-piece band is
now called Focus. It is not known if they ran
a 'name changing competition' like Battered Fish or not, but it can be
certain that they have set a high benchmark for Battered Fish, and all
subsequenters, to follow. (P.S. Subsequenters is not an actual word. If
you think it should be let us know.) 17.03.01
- Balaam's Ass beat the trend. And for all the latecomers, Balaam's
Ass changed their name ages ago to Juxtapose.
Again mystery surrounds the choice of name and it's origins. (Perhaps it
would be good to start a 'Why did you call your band what you did?'
section for this web site.) 17.03.01
- New section to open soon. It has been announced due to the
recent flurry of name changes of local Christian bands to start up a whole
new section dedicated to the question: 'Why did you
call your band what you did?'. It is such a fascinating subject and
more time than not there are fascinating reasons why bands choose the name
they do. So look for it in the coming months - the new section of the site
that will have you running home from school/work/uni/church in such a
hurry you're likely to get a stitch. 17.03.01
- Nagasaki name change. The rumour that Nagasaki
are considering changing their name to one of 3 other Japanese cities are
unfounded. There has not been any official word from the band, but sources
suggest that the scenic cities of Yokohama, Kumamoto
& Higashikawa are not currently being
considered. One person asked about the rumour thought that Higashikawa
was a great name for a band. But it seems for now it is Nagasaki to
stay.
17.03.01
- Change in plans for Nagasaki. Nagasaki
was to release another single in the next month or two. However plans have changed and there will now be no
single. Instead, an EP will be released in the second half of this year. The songs have not been confirmed yet - neither has a release date. There will be two launched though - an over 18's and an all ages launch - hopefully by September but we're not promising anything.
16.03.01
