13.05.03 - New resource for playgroups and crèches.

More and more Australian churches are reaching out to young families in
their community via playgroups for preschool children and support groups
for their carers. They are taking up the challenge of running playgroups
which are comfortable for families who are not used to church, while
ensuring that the Christian message comes through. And it's not easy.
There are two basic aspects to these groups. One is the relational side,
showing God's love to young families. The other is providing excellent
constructive play activities for the children, to aid their early
development and set a good foundation for faith. To do both well, takes
expertise, support and commitment.
With this in mind, Scripture Union has released a new range of resources
called TIDDLYWINKS, available now through Christian bookshops or SU Mail
Order.
Each Tiddlywinks Big Book ($25.95) offers ideas for running playgroups
and crèches as well as 25 themed outlines with practical play ideas,
stories, songs, rhymes and craft.
Tiddlywinks Little Books ($7.95) are to read to individual children and
contain Bible stories to fit with the activities in the Big Books.
