05.12.03 - Fantastic new Gospel fantasy novel.
From Multimedia Interface Pty Ltd (publisher).
Released on December 1, 'The Ancient Machine' by
Justyn Walker is possibly the best new Gospel allegory written this year. Justyn has taken the Genesis 1 story of the two trees in the Garden of Eden and woven a new fantasy story around what became of those trees.
"Morlock took the tree (of the knowledge of good and evil) down to the underworld and there fashioned a deplorable thing, a killing machine..."
The novel unfolds a gripping surface story in the telling of the fantasy while underneath it deals with Christian concepts such as adoption reality and the Atonement. Parallels abound with Christian life and struggles to become what we are in Christ.
'The Ancient Machine' is the sequel to Justyn's first fantasy novel, 'The Magician's Daughter', an allegory around the consequences of the fall. TMD is already being prepared for reprint in January as the last copies are sold over Christmas.
Available from Christian Bookstores, Dymocks & Angus & Robertson, or direct from the publisher. RRP $16.95. |
