Steve Grace has just completed a rigorous concert schedule performing to more than 24,000 people in five states over the past five months.

Steve says it was "an amazing time to be out on the road preaching the Gospel and exciting the church in Australia to mission". The "Follow Jesus" tour saw Steve and the team travel more that 22 thousand kilometres playing at 60 gigs including more than half in small country towns. Love your work!

Word Australia releases a 4-CD set of Steve's music called "Milestones" this month.

16.11.01 - End of an era for the Geoff Rankin Band.

From Geoff Rankin Band.

It's sad to say but our last gig before half the band start flapping madly and the other half fly to Europe for 12 months could quite well be THIS Sunday night! We play for 30 mins and it'll be well worth your journey. There's also rumours of a pre-concert sausage sizzle, so if the past is anything to go by, make sure you get there early if you at all can! There's nothing like a sausage sizzle to whip the crowd into a frenzy.

Gig details: Sunday 18 November 2001 / 6pm-7pm, Geoff Rankin Band & Barb Chapman concert @ Cannon Hill Baptist, 180 Richmond Rd Cannon Hill.

There were plenty of reports flooding in from our most recent performances that Dan's bass playing really does get the fingers tapping almost immediately. Some people even think that just seeing Dan holding his bass guitar is enough to get the fingers working doubletime. Why don't you come along and judge for yourself? We're even considering holding a finger tapping competition to win a CD, so that will be one not to miss.

We believe that entry is free. But make sure you bring along a dollar or two for the as-yet still-unconfirmed pre-concert sausage sizzle. Don't forget there's CD signing and temporary Geoff Rankin band tattooes available after the show - just as long as we don't forget the nikko.

Download 2 new songs from 'The Sacred Hill' CD here.

13.11.01 - Leo Nine Christmas supa-special.

If you buy the Leo Nine self-titled CD by December 15, you can get it half price - that's, $7.95 instead of $15.95! But this is available only from the Toupee Online Shop. Listen to Leo Nine here.

Oh, and dB Magazine said this about the CD: 'From time to time a band come along and produce music, that despite not being even close to a new concept, still manage to shamelessly stir up the heart and soul of the listener. The Strokes have mastered this within a rock and roll format, now Leo Nine appear to be revolutionising the world of indie pop in the same way.'

13.11.01 - Antiskeptic - preorder now.

From Toupee Records.

The highly-anticipated independent Antiskeptic release is finally here - a full 5 track double A-side EP. 13.11.01 - Dumpster single.

From Toupee Records.

'Incontrovertible proof (if any were needed) that some of the best bands in the world are right here in Brisbane. Dumpster harness a churning guitar tornado with aplomb on Cravin' Mild, with Grant Nelson's burnished vocals hiding teasingly in the eye of the storm. Recalling early Swervedriver but with a more direct melodic line, Cravin' Mild is a cracking rock tune that manages to pile on a tonne of atmosphere without sacrificing power. Go see Dumpster when next they play, they deserve your undivided attention.' RAVE Oct 01.

'Cravin' Mild' is available now in the Toupee Online Shop here. Listen to Dumpster here.

07.11.01 - Nagasaki's Mikey says 'Goodbye'.

From Nagasaki.

Dear Nagasaki friends and fans,

After almost 2 years of playing live, touring and rehearsing I am leaving my position as the drummer for Nagasaki. It has not been an easy decision for me to make, however I believe that God is calling me on to do different things in music. I know that God has great things for this band and that my leaving is only another step in the growth of Nagasaki. Please keep Andy, Steve, Charlie and the new drummer in your prayers as they continue to do what they have been called to do. They are my friends and brothers and cannot continue to reach people without your prayer and support.

I would like to thank everyone who has come to a show, bought a cd or a sticker, helped carry gear or just had a kind word to say. You have made things worthwhile. See you around - Mikey.

Check out the info on the new drummer and more at www.nagasaki.4t.com.

01.11.01 - Award winning band Paradox is making news again.

From Paradox.

After their success in the 2001 Queensland Rock Awards Brisbane band Paradox will release their long awaited debut album 'Speak To Me' on Friday the 9th of November at COC, 195 Elizabeth Avenue Redcliffe.

Paradox are: Bernard Hellmann, Misha Gursky, Jamie McIntyre, Danny Lean and Michael Dearness.

Formed in Nov 99, Paradox have produced songs with powerful lyrics and the title track 'Speak To Me' addresses the importance of preventing suicide. Other songs to feature on the album include the award winning 'Carry You' which took out Best Original Song in the 96.5FM Creative Challenge last year.

This up and coming band has many awards to their credit but takes time out to play in places many others won't and the lives of inmates at Wacol women's and Woodford men's prisons have been so effected by the message Paradox brings, the band is often welcomed back for repeat performances.

The band will play main stage at Queensland's largest three days music festival Sonfest held in Boonah in January 2002, and then in Toowoomba for the Australian Gospel Music Festival in March.

These ground-breaking musicians will launch their debut album with guest performances by several well-known Christian artists - Geoff Rankin Band, Stephen Grady Band, Lisa Reynolds and Nagasaki. Doors open at 6:30pm for 2 hours of Easy listening and then at 8:30pm the volume will be turned up for an explosion of rock. Be there!

The night begins at 6:30pm and admission is FREE. (CD give-aways and your chance to win a Portable AMP).

Download Paradox, Geoff Rankin, Lisa Reynolds here.

01.11.01 - Songs of hope and encouragement in perilous times.

From Woodlands Media.

A response to the unthinkable.

The unthinkable happened...

Terrorists unleashed an astonishing air assault on America's military and financial power centres, hijacking four commercial jets and crashing them into the World Trade Centre in New York, the Pentagon, and the Pennsylvania countryside.

Soon, lightning commando raids in Taliban territory heralded the beginning of the US ground campaign to find Osama bin Laden, and Australia's SAS troops joined the "war on terrorism".

The world has changed. Fortunately, people have begun to find ways to face the situation realistically, and to find the balance requiring sensible precautions without a surrender to fear.

Just as the Psalmists expressed their hopes and despair in times of trouble, Australia's contemporary Christian singers and songwriters express all the emotions that people are feeling right now. Everything from the hope they are seeking, the faith that they hold on, to and the many questions that still linger.
