Void If Removed here now.
The four member outfit, Void If Removed have a heavy alternative rock, hip-hop, and electronic sound. Their message of hope is what hits home the best and the sound is driven by complete passion and heart.
Lead singer/guitarist, Shane Eggmolesse & Drummer, James McLaren founded the Sunshine Coast based group in early 2001. Shane said, "The band started when we were watching bands play at Sonfest 2001, it was quite expiring. I turned to James and said lets start a band." They both jammed with a few other musicians for a while until they met up with Bassist, Joel Saunders & Keyboardist, Stephenie Saunders. "Although the styles we are mixing can be very different, we want the combination to feel natural--that is a big part of Void If Removed's identity. Making many different musical backgrounds and flavours, sound like our own sound". Bands that have influenced Void If Removed's sound have been Payable On Death (POD), Project 86, Pax217, Linkin Park and Rage Against The Machine.
The band recorded its first three track sample in mid 2001 'Spirit Operation' which sold out quickly. Void If Removed's reputation for being fan-oriented is best exemplified in their dedication to interacting with the audience at shows. "Ever since the beginning, we've always tried to maintain a strong relationship with our fans." Shane says. The band has been hard at it, touring this year in Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and all over South East Queensland. Void If Removed have their sights set on touring throughout Australia and New Zealand next year in 2003.
The band is now armed with a new 15 track album called 'Craving' to be released in December 2002. The result is a sound with modern rock, encompassing metal, rap, melodic power pop and a few little surprises to be discovered!
