The Tone Rangers formed in the early 90’s as a trio playing blues originals and Stevie Ray Vaughan covers. In ’95, a change of drummer and the addition of sax added a contemporary edge with jazz/funk influences.
The current line-up (Rob Haysom, guitar, vocals, songwriting; David Fittell, bass; Marty Kendall, sax; Matt Chudasko, drums) have been building a solid fan-base who enjoy their goodtime grooves and soulful blues.
Rob’s classic-sounding originals draw from the depth of the blues but tend to have a positive twist. The band have played everywhere from festival stages to tiny cafes, biker clubs, weddings, concerts, churches, pubs, clubs and backyards.
The last few years have been relatively quiet with Marty’s job taking him out of town, but with the release of a new album coinciding with his return to Brisbane, the Tone Rangers are ready for action.
