Sounds Like Chicken here.
Rapidly establishing themselves as a leader in the ska genre in Australia, Melbourne's Sounds Like Chicken (sLc) are taking over the underground scene with their unique blend of ska, hardcore and rock and renowned high-energy stage show. The band is known for being one of Victorias most frequently gigging
independent acts and places a high importance on touring, an attitude that has already seen them hit stages in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney, Perth and their hometown of Melbourne. Regional cities have not been forgotten, with visits to Newcastle, Toowoomba, Wodonga and more already under their belt.
sLc have supported two of the world's biggest ska bands, Reel Big Fish (USA) and the Mad Caddies (USA) and have shared the stage with the crème of Australia's punk/rock elite such as Killing Heidi, Gyroscope, Area 7, One Dollar Short, In The Grey, The Porkers, Antiskeptic and many more.
On the radio front, both the band's debut studio EP 'I Am Gibbon, Hear Me Roar' and the new single 'Global Domination' received airplay on JJJ and many other stations across Australia.
As proof that the live show doesn't go unnoticed, in 2002 sLc not only won their heat and regional final, but went on to place 2nd in the Victorian state final of the National Campus Band
Competition.
