With a sound similar to Souljahz, & musical influences from Toby Mac, Craig David, & Destiny's Child new rap/r&b group Soul Agenda are set to make their mark on the music scene.

Members the apostle on rap & Lisa on vocals formed the group in mid-'03 after realising that by merging their talents they could impact a world through their honest & relevant lyrics.

It was only through the sudden & tragic death of the apostle's wife & Lisa's sister Tracey (2 months after they formed), that it became apparent that this brother & sister-in-law duo would embark on a vastly different journey than the one on which they had set out.

"When your life gets turned upside down like it has for the both of us, you begin to realise that there is nothing on earth more important than your walk with God." Continues the apostle, "you also realise that when your faith has been shaken to the core like ours has, God will guide you on a different path & reveal things to you that gives you a whole new perspective on not only this life but that of the one to come."

"And that's what we are trying to share in our music," adds Lisa. "We are who we are through the journey that we walk. Only God is the one who can change you from the inside out & take each situation that you face & use it for His glory."

It's also changed the way Soul Agenda has approached their music too.

The apostle, "While our main style is r&b/rap, we also have begun to write & sing worship music that can reach a far wider audience. We both agree that rap/r&b are for a certain market, but worship is somewhat a universal style."

Lisa says, "Sung & written in the right manner worship in many ways can have a greater impact than our style. Especially with what we've had to face recently. For us, & I think for our families & friends as well, worship music has been the one comfort in the midst of our turmoil. The one way in which we have felt close to God & the comfort that only He can bring. But having side that, our main focus is the urban style. We use worship as an added element."

Soul Agenda make it clear about who they are & what they stand for without bringing the in-your-face style that seems to go along with the rap/r&b scene. Their passion is their music but it is evident through their lyrics that Soul Agenda aspire to bring people to a closer relationship with Jesus Christ.

"If there was one passage in the Bible that we were to grab onto," says the apostle, "then I think it would be Psalm 23 because on this painful journey that we've both had to walk, the Lord has been & always will be our Shepherd."

With a heart for reaching people where they're at, Soul Agenda have the desire to be real people in a real world.
