'Ask any fisherman: Fish stories are supposed to be extravagant. But the fish tale that is the history of Christian kids music group Rocfish needs no embellishment: 3 talented young adults and their fishy friend Roxi are making a real impact on kids and their families in churches and communities across Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the United States.
It's the story of a group of young adults realising a dream, a talented and energetic team of younger adults using their talents in a creative ministry opportunity, and of kids and their families being touched by a big fish with some contagious tunes and some of the best stories going around.'
The heart of Rocfish is to bring children to an awareness of who they are in Jesus Christ, encouraging life choices based on the teachings and principles found in the Bible. Parents, pastors, and children's leaders all agree - Rocfish Concerts, DVD's and CD's are impacting thousands of children in a phenomenal way. Rocfish has a unique way of presenting the gospel message in a combination of drama, dance, and music that blend with modern day styles that children relate to and enjoy.
Having become Australia and New Zealand's premiere Christian kid's ministry, Rocfish performed their first live tour of South Africa and the United States in 2003. In early 2004, Rocfish conducted a wide-reaching tour of the United Sates, performing at churches across the nation and were featured at the Children's Pastor's Conferences in San Diego, Dallas and Atlanta. This has opened the door to allow Rocfish to continue achieving their purpose: 'to plant seeds of love and hope in the hearts of children so that they may discover Jesus in whom are hidden all the treasures of their lives.' Colossians 2:2-4.
Rocfish was officially launched in March 2001 at the Australian Gospel Music Festival. The 'Whale of a Tale' Video and CD became an instant Top 10 seller across the nation. Live performances followed at hundreds of churches, schools, conferences and festivals, in both Australia and New Zealand, including the Hillsong Conference in Sydney and the Parachute Music Festival in New Zealand.
To date, Rocfish has released 3 Videos, 2 DVD and 6 CD's in Australia and New Zealand, with four productions climbing to the #1 spot of the TRAA Christian sales charts. All Rocfish music and video recordings have appeared in the Top 20 and have received widespread endorsements from children's pastors, parents, teachers and other children's leaders.
Rocfish signed their U.S. record deal in the summer of 2005 with BHT Entertainment and released "The Prodigal Tale" DVD and CD on September 13, 2005.
This rapid acceptance and growth, combined with such positive feedback has highlighted that the ministry of Rocfish is meeting real needs and is making a difference in the lives of countless children around the world..
