INFLIGHT MUSIC
The innovative pop styling of inflight is achieved by blending the bop of rock 'n' roll with the bip of a synth. inflight mixes the music genres that you'll find in the current Top 40 charts, 80's pop and today's rock inflight follows the style of bands such as Smashmouth, Audio Adrenaline, Newsboys, Blur and Robbie Williams. Music that you'll sing-a-long with and will make you smile. The result? A package that audiences will crave. This mesh creates a fresh pop sound, which reflects their unique style and bright stage performance. inflight's lyrics are fun, yet confronting and reflect the importance of meaningful modern day living. David O'Reilly (songwriter) explains that 'when I write, it mainly consists of happy tunes and party songs that reflects God's love for today's youth.'
INFLIGHT PEOPLE
inflight is based in Melbourne, Victoria and consists of lead vocals/guitarist David O'Reilly, bassist Benjamin Norman and newest member, drummer Samuel E. Gazis. In addition to being involved in inflight, they are also involved in various other sectors of the music industry and church ministries.
INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT
inflight have been working on their second album 'entertainment' that will be released in November this year. The recording will include crowd favourites 'Hey Ho, Dating a Model, Summer Time and Hello-lujah'.
inflight's new songs are stimulating, electrifying and exhilarating. The album reflects the high energy and fun of inflight's performances. inflight wants people to enjoy and be entertained by the band, but Benjamin explains that 'So often we tune into superficial mediums in life for entertainment, however we ought to find fulfillment in people surrounding us, and most importantly in Jesus. 'Entertainment' is about enjoying and sharing our love with one another in everyday living.' inflight strives to use their music as a vehicle to reach people who have not experienced a personal relationship and the love of Jesus Christ. Benjamin further explains that 'Music is a powerful tool, to open people's eyes so their lives are change for Eternity.'
INFLIGHT 2000
inflight was formed in 2000 and during that year they recorded 'Volume 3'. The EP was recorded by one of Australia's leading producer Reggie Bowman, formerly of Southern Sons. Bowman has produced such artists as Pre Shrunk, Hayley Aitkin, Roma Waterman and James Reyne. Benjamin says that Volume 3 was '.an exciting time of musical and spiritual growth in establishing the foundations for inflight's future direction.'. The official release of 'Volume 3' was during the Australian Tour of USA Grammy award nominated band All Star United to which inflight attained the much desired support band position. 'Volume 3' gained airplay across Australia on various stations including Life FM, Rhema FM and Community Radio.
INFLIGHT 2001
Over 2001, inflight played at various festivals, events and venues throughout the East Coast of Australia. Some of theses performances included Sonfest, Forest Edge, Australian Gospel Music Festival and Youth Alive. The band was also featured on Australia's National Radio station, ABC, which broadcasts throughout 62 stations Australia wide. The radio special featured a 'live' five-song recording of inflight's Australian Gospel Music Festival unplugged performance.
INFLIGHT 2002
In January 2002, inflight was involved in one of Australia's leading festivals, Sonfest at Sidney Myer Music Bowl, in Melbourne. They were among 12 artists performing at Australia's premier concert venue. International artists included UK's Delirious and USA artists Supertones, Eli, Reliant K, Earthsuit and Skillet. Along with five Australian artists, including The Paul Colman Trio.
inflight's performance at Forest Edge Christian Festival 2002 was claimed by TRAA charts (Australian Christian Charts email update) and ACAN gig guide (Australian Christian Artist Network email update) to be one of the 'stand out performances during the festival, at which over 70 bands and artists played. inflight was invited back to perform at the 2002 Australian Gospel Music Festival. With an awe-inspiring crowd enjoying three performances over the Easter weekend. November and December this year inflight are planning their first USA tour.
