Daniel Kay is a contemporary Christian
singer who provides inspirational song-based ministry to church
services, Christian corporate events and special occasions. His
repertoire is conservative but contemporary and is especially suited for
inspiring and encouraging the 35+ Christian audience; his tenor voice is
stirring and his communication with an audience or congregation is
exceptional.
During 1991 Daniel toured as a singer with a Youth for Christ band
ministering in churches throughout eastern Australia - 15 years on and
Daniel’s desire to minister as a singer continues. Those years have
afforded Daniel experiences the young teenage singer could never have
foreseen, experiences which have shaped, matured and developed a gift
that was always clear to those around him.
A love for ministry in churches has always been an aspect to Daniel’s
journey. From those early days of traveling Daniel launched into Bible
college training and then, along with his wife Jodie, into a six year
stint as Creative Arts Directors. Now his continued interaction with
churches as a singer affords opportunities for Daniel to endorse and
express his passion for church ministry.
The journey has also been one littered with academic training in voice,
commencing as a classical undergraduate and journeying to his latest
enrolment as a Doctorate student, focusing in contemporary voice
training. Through this time Daniel has developed a passion for the
teaching and development of other singers, especially Christian singers
in churches, and this passion has given birth to ‘djarts’, a business
focused on training singers in contemporary voice – this is his ‘bread
and butter’ so to speak. His expertise in this field has him currently
holding office at both a state and national level in associations for
teachers of singing, and as a guest lecturer at tertiary institutions.
As Daniel’s academic journey progressed his own voice matured and
developed, a strong tenor with an exceptional vocal range, and a
realization of an infatuation with adult contemporary material was born.
Dually he had experience performing in a broad range of contexts;
corporate events, television, radio, musical theatre, as well as
Christian events and churches. At each zigzag in the road Daniel’s sense
of direction led him more and more back in time – to the times of
ministering in churches as a teenager those 15 years ago...
Alongside his growing expertise in a broad range of singing contexts
Daniel deeply desires to converge this experience with his ministry
roots. Singing and performing are in themselves a sustaining passion for
Daniel, but channel this into a context where he may minister to
Christians and non-Christians and Daniel truly realises his potential as
a Christian Artist. Daniel’s individual journey of faith has established
in him a personal philosophy he desires to communicate to audiences...
