Cindy-Leigh is a dynamic and talented musician, singer and songwriter who aims to see lives touched through her music. And touched you will be - not just by her songs but also by her inspiring passion, her great sense of purpose, and her heart.

You love me for who I am and you know what's inside my heart I don't want to live in a world where I have to hide you Cos you're why I'm here today. (Air That I Breathe)

Throughout her EP, "Air That I Breathe" Cindy-Leigh pushes the traditional boundaries of the music world, bringing to it a fresh, vibrant, strong and intensely beautiful sound. Cindy-Leigh describes her style as contemporary pop with a gospel feel.

Cindy-Leigh started out as an instrumentalist. She can play guitar, piano, bass and percussion instruments, but acknowledges drums as the only instrument she plays seriously. Never having had lessons, Cindy-Leigh is self-taught, acquiring her skills by observing other drummers. Her first drumming influence was her father, David. Cindy-Leigh used to fall asleep in front of the bass drum while he was playing. She laughingly suggests that "drumming was literally beaten into her." For the past 4 years Cindy-Leigh has been working with her parents as the Music Director at Brisbane Faith Centre.

You're the fuel that keeps the fire burning in me. (You're All I Need)

Cindy-Leigh has performed at a number of functions, both as a backing vocalist and as an independent artist. These functions include the opening of Southbank Parklands in 2001, the 2001 Christmas Carols in King George Square, the BFCI Graduation and various events for Sheldon College. Cindy-Leigh's most prominent experience to date, has been her performance as a backing vocalist at the Goodwill Games, where she supported singers such as Vanessa Amorosi, Debelah Morgan, Graeme Connors, Keith Urban, Human Nature, Tali and many more.

As exciting as these experiences have been for Cindy-Leigh, her greatest achievement has been the release of her EP, "Air That I Breathe." Cindy-Leigh believes it is her greatest achievement to date as it is something that is entirely her own work. She could shape and mold each song, creating them the way that she envisaged them to be.

An important aspect of singing/songwriting for Cindy-Leigh is keeping her music authentic and not computer generated. This realness will create an impact on each listener. She is straight down the line and dislikes falseness in any form. "You're All I Need" is one of Cindy-Leigh's favourite songs because "we live in a world that is full of emptiness and falseness - things I don't want to have in my life. I want to be real."

"God is as real as they come. He is everything. He's all I need. He's the only one true God that lives inside of me. He's the reason I sing. Because of Him, I am what I am and do what I do."

Cindy-Leigh is not scared to take risks. This is obvious in her choice to be a singer, songwriter, composer and performer of her own songs. Even as a child, Cindy-Leigh's parents noted that she was very determined and had a mind of her own. They describe her as focused and committed: knowing what she wants and tenaciously going after it. Cindy-Leigh declares that "as a singer, you are hesitant to do big things because you are afraid of how people will take you. You wonder if you have what it takes. The music world dictates fashion and you wonder if you fit this mold as an artist. But you just have to do it. It is okay to aspire to be as good as someone else, but you should never set that person as a benchmark. Who says they should be your limit? Why should you stop there? I don't want to set that benchmark for myself. The sky's the limit. Who makes the decision about who is the best? You have to be you."

"You don't ever arrive at your dreams. If you do, you haven't dreamed big enough."

Cindy-Leigh demonstrates that it is possible to break the mold.

Cindy-Leigh wants listeners of her music to feel both inspired and comforted. She wants to infuse a personal sense of peace and security by encouraging a realisation that we are not alone. A realisation that there is a greater presence in this world that watches over all and can fill the empty voids in our lives. Cindy-Leigh trusts that by listening to her music, people will remember that they are not alone through their life journey.

"It's not about singing to the crowds - it's about singing to one person at a time. It's about reaching each person, using the gift God has given me to touch and change lives."

In listening to the lyrics, you will awaken to the fact that there is something very different about Cindy-Leigh's music that will touch, inspire and move you, making it clear that her music is not just her hobby but her heart.

"Singing is not just my future - it's my dream. It's a desire that God has placed in me and I just have to have faith that He will bring it to pass. It doesn't stop here. I don't stop here. This is just the beginning of my journey. My EP is a milestone - a stepping stone to bigger things."

"To quote my Dad, 'My best days are yet to come'"
