to people? A stimulating talk by journalist, author and ABC radio
broadcaster John Harms that explores the questions "Why is sport
meaningful to people?" & "Is sport a religion in Australia?". John Harms
brings a keen appreciation of sporting culture - its passions, tribal
loyalties, eschatology - as well as philosophical and theological
reflection on the relation of sport to the deeper needs and hopes that
humans experience. It will be a talk well worth hearing. @ Christ Church

- Stu Larsen has been a fixture in his local music scene for some time
now, playing a wide variety of gigs ranging from supporting The Whitlams
to James Morrison, from mainstage slots at festivals to sleepy,
smoke-free pubs downtown on any given weekend. Five weeks in a Brisbane
studio with producer Caleb James has proven time well spent, with the
album already creating talk amongst industry insiders, well before the
release date. Support - Karra Frost. @ Empire Theatre Chapel, Toowoomba.
