Wed 2 March 2005 / 5:30pm, Free Public Lecture at QUT - As part of the Trilby Misso Free Public Lecture Series, the Faculty of Law and the Creative Industries Faculty present "The BBC's Creative Archive Project: New Approaches to Accessing Creative Content" - a free public lecture by Paula Le Dieu. The BBC's announcement that it will release archived material under Creative Commons styled licences has captured worldwide attention. Paula Le Dieu has been at the centre of this development and will present an overview of the BBC's Creative Archive initiative which aims to ensure greater community access to material held in the BBC's archives. @ The Gardens Theatre, QUT Gardens Point (City) Campus. Fri 11 Mar 2005 / 7:30pm, Holy Dove Ministries - Holy Dove Ministries is a regular non-denominational women's meeting being held on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Friday night of each month (except any Friday that is part of a long weekend). Fri 18 Mar 2005 / 7pm-10pm, 'Moogerah Passion Play - He's Alive!!!' - The 2005 production of 'He's Alive!!!' shows more of Christ's passion than Mel Gibson's film. It tells the story from the gathering of the disciples. It shows the miracles. It brings us into personal contact with this man, who was God incarnate. It shows His response to children and their response to Him. It includes us in the excitement of the resurrection, and challenges us to respond to the living Christ, the Jesus who is alive in our world. The Lake Theatre is on the shores of beautiful Lake Moogerah, only an hour south of Brisbane. (Just drive to the Moogerah Caravan Park, then follow the signs.) All performances are free. March 18 the performance starts at 7pm with Christian music, and finishes with a fireworks festival and more music. This is a special Youth Performance starting at 7pm. Other performances start at 5pm and take place on Sat 19, Fri 25 and Sat 26. Just bring a rug or a chair. Food and drinks available. Fri 25 Mar 2005 / 6:45pm, 'Iona Passion Play - Unique Outdoor Performance' - People of Brisbane are invited to discover the meaning of Easter during the annual performance of Australia's only touring Passion Play. Returning to Brisbane for the first time in five years. Now in its 48th year the Play has performed somewhere in Australia every year since 1958. It has travelled over 50 000 km and been seen and enjoyed by over half a million people. The Iona Passion Play depicts the last days of Christ on earth, from His triumphant entry into Jerusalem, through His trial, agony and death, to his Resurrection. The script is based on the four Gospels, and has been adapted to suit large cast and multi-stage settings. One performance only on Good Friday!
