dave drinkall says, "Hi all"
steve drinkall says, "Hi guys"
steve drinkall says, "what do you guys want to know?"

mr mustard says, "are you and Dave REALLY brothers?"
steve drinkall says, "Yes we are brothers"
dave drinkall says, "Steve and I aren't brothers...we just met each other and could not believe we had the same last name"

call me pennywise - or matt says, "hey Steve how are u feeling?"
steve drinkall says, "pretty sick at the moment but I'm ready to rock"

starflyer says, "so what bands do you guys like?"
dave drinkall says, "We are into different bands"
dave drinkall says, "we all like U2, Radiohead, Bon Jovi"
steve drinkall says, "U2, Nick Cave, Gomez, Travis, Larry Norman, Dumpster"
dave drinkall says, "We like bands who know what they think and weave it into their music"
steve drinkall says, "I just like bands with good haircuts"

sparky says, "what would you most want to be remembered for?"
steve drinkall says, "writing good songs"
dave drinkall says, "yeah...having a positive impact on people, eliminating world poverty and all nastiness..."
dave drinkall says, "that sort of thing"

sparky says, "Who was your greatest influence?"
steve drinkall says, "Dave, my brother"
dave drinkall says, "parents, etc...musically probably artists like Bob Dylan, U2 etc"
mr mustard says, "is he or isn't your brother? there seems to be confusion"
steve drinkall says, "we are definitely brothers"
dave drinkall says, "I want to see the DNA proof"

cmp or matt says, "hey can u guys play at Mueller?"
steve drinkall says, "we never get asked to play at Mueller"
dave drinkall says, "probably can't play at Mueller in the near future due to busy schedule and tour"
kimmy says, "i remember when i was little, Dave was teaching there"
dave drinkall says, "and a good job he did too"

sparky says, "Where is your dream gig?"
steve drinkall says, "Mueller"
dave drinkall says, "Mmm...dream gig would be supporting U2...or maybe playing with Nirvana (not much chance of that)"

cmp or matt says, "what are the chorus chords to Caroline"
steve drinkall says, "C followed by E - its fairly complex"
cmp or matt says, "thought it was a Csus something"
steve drinkall says, "we don't know what Csus is"
dave drinkall says, "Yeah a lot of people think we are clever but we're not."

starflyer says, "with the obvious change in genre between albums, what's your opinion on Kamikaze?"
steve drinkall says, "I still like it - It is a good representation of what we were into then"
dave drinkall says, "I still like it although it sounds less mature to me...obviously a band recording their first album"
dave drinkall says, "It took 10 days and Slow Motion took over 10 months."

kimmy says, "what made you decide to form a band?"
dave drinkall says, "Steve and I always played together and with friends and I guess it was just fun"
steve drinkall says, "we didn't really decided anything we just used to play together and then we got offered a gig and it all went from there"
dave drinkall says, "Then we suddenly thought, what if we could do this for a living and then it became less fun."

mr mustard says, "guys, where does rhubarb stand on the delicate issue of American corporate reform?"
steve drinkall says, "we don't really stand on any issues but I think people in charge of companies should stop stealing everyone else's money"
dave drinkall says, "We think that it is very important...America needs to set an example and tidy its own room so to speak"
mr mustard says, "cheers - that was pivotal to my opinion of rhubarb"

sparky says, "what is the most important message you want to get out to the people?"
steve drinkall says, "I'm not really trying to get a message to anyone - I am simply trying to live my life in the way that I think is right and if that seeps into the music then great but we have no hidden agendas in rhubarb"
dave drinkall says, "The main message I wish everyone could know is that life is more than what you can see"

starflyer says, "did Caleb produce slow motion?
steve drinkall says, "yes Caleb produced slow motion with rhubarb"
dave drinkall says, "Caleb did produce Slow Motion but this record was more collaborative so we were more confident to change things and suggest things and complain etc"

starflyer says, "is he a full time producer/engineer?"
dave drinkall says, "part time rhubarb, part time producer, part time computer game guru"
steve drinkall says, "he produces stuff whenever he isn't working with the band. Apart from that he just plays computer games"

mr mustard says, "is Caleb, like, a control freak?"
dave drinkall says, "no not really. He is good though and so he backs his opinions"
dave drinkall says, "That is why you spend money on a producer...to tell you what really sucks."
steve drinkall says, "It is more important to know what isn't good rather than what is"

kimmy says, "out of all of the songs that you've written which would be your favourites?"
steve drinkall says, "My favourite track is still Room For Flying followed by Just Another Pilot"
dave drinkall says, "I like Hard Enough, Want Me Back (Kamikaze) , and Landslide"
dave drinkall says, "I guess it changes too depending on your mood etc"
steve drinkall says, "some songs I actually like better live than on CD"

starflyer says, "i can see some trip-hop influence on Light On Your Shoulder (more Dido say than Massive Attack) is that just me?"
dave drinkall says, "LOYS is not modelled on anything but I can see some similarities.. it started as an acoustic song called Song for Bagdad"
steve drinkall says, "We hadn't been listening to any trip-hop stuff. But late nights will mellow out any song"

sparky says, "where do you get your inspiration?"
dave drinkall says, "Inspiration is weird... life involves certain feelings and often it is the actual recording of the music..."

sparky says, "what comes first, the words or the music?"
steve drinkall says, "always the music"
dave drinkall says, "we listen to it so many times without lyrics and then you start thinking about things as you're effected by the tune."
dave drinkall says, "I do have some words I haven't found the right tune for though Steve"
steve drinkall says, "sure you do"
dave drinkall says, "Romeo wasn't built in a day"

starflyer says, "yeah, so was the recording physically easy, or did you like have periods when you didn't see the sun for days, and thought it would never finish?"
dave drinkall says, "it was very long over 12 months really so you go through every emotion."
dave drinkall says, "Because we didn't have to pay for recording time, we could go home early and come back the next day...Caleb did some long days."
steve drinkall says, "we were pretty balanced except the vocals did seem like they would never end. I was singing so bad at one point that Caleb sent me for 2 weeks off to do nothing but sing scales and strengthen up my voice. From then on I pretty much laid down the tracks in a few days"

mr mustard says, "after touring with each other and spending much time in close confines, are you shocked by anyone in the band's odd habits?"
dave drinkall says, "Yeah...I can't believe how soft some people are...you think they are cool and tough but when you get them on the road and the room's a bit cold, you never hear them stop winging."
dave drinkall says, "Steve has some shocking habits like....."
steve drinkall says, "eating his toenails"
dave drinkall says, "he can't sleep without socks on"
cmp or matt says, "socks are good though"
dave drinkall says, "in winter yes...but not when its 40 C"
steve drinkall says, "socks are always appropriate"
sparky says, "I guess toenails beat McDonalds"

molly says, "embarrassing tour stories?"
dave drinkall says, "yeah...once we had to go into this chat room."
steve drinkall says, "none that we can mention at this chat room - most of them involve Caleb trying to be funny and then totally embarrassing himself"
dave drinkall says, "Caleb ruined a lift in a building stopping hundreds of people being able to get in or out of a huge highrise"
