whole transcript which should be on-line soon!
This
isn't the beginning but it's a start...
jared haschek says, "I play keyboard and sing a bit."
rebecca haschek says, "I play bass and sing a very tiny bit"
matthew young says, "Oh I am also the guy that gets picked on 'cause I sit at the back"
jared haschek says, "And you're the drummer."
matthew young says, "well.....and the good looking one"
sparky: is there much of a difference between Melbourne audiences and Queensland ones?
matthew young says, "Yeah, Queensland ones are a lot better looking."
justin gall says, "OK, well, just to say that brisbane audiences don't wear as many big jackets and can't surf in cold water."
pretzel: why are qld ones better looking?
justin gall says, "I think Qld ones just use Solariums more."
jared haschek says, "They'll all die of skin cancer"
justin gall says, "Some might die of watching day time television too."
lyss: Do you guys ever have disagreements?
jared haschek says, "Do we ever have disagreements?"
jared haschek says, "Like any group of people (or like any family!), we have disagreements from time to time"
jared haschek says, "but nothing we can't sort out!"
justin gall says, "Sorry guys, what are we disagreeing about now?"
sparky: What is your dream gig?
matthew young says, "my dream gig is playing with my favourite drummer, Chad Smith from the Chilli Peppers, or with Damo from Motor Ace"
jared haschek says, "Dream gig? The one where every single person who has ever been to a Compliments of Gus gig in the past comes along and buys a CD."
rebecca haschek says, "Dream gig is definitely in a giant arena which is sold out. That would be such a great feeling to play to that many people."
jared haschek says, "However, some of our best gigs have been to church services of 20 people."
rebecca haschek says, "Yeah. 20 people gigs have their place too."
justin gall says, "I'd say 10 people gigs are worse than 20"
rebecca haschek says, "It's when you get into negative numbers, that's when the crowds really get depressing."
rebecca haschek says, "They are all just anti matter."
sparky: Do you give testimonials as part of your concert?
justin gall says, "hey anti matter could be part of your testimonial bec"
jared haschek says, "Testimonials? We often share about what we believe in; Justin has some preachin' blood in him."
matthew young says, "We do give testimonials at some gigs, it just depends on the type of gig it is"
phoebe: What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened during a gig?
matthew young says, "Dropping my stick is pretty bad, but not that embarrassing, I think that Jared falling over is pretty good"
justin gall says, "Most emabarrasing was probably walking into the 2001 Forest Edge gig two minutes after we were supposed to start playing because we got so horribly lost getting there."
rebecca haschek says, "My most embarrasing would have to be the first ever gig I did, where I was lost (and stopped playing) for a whole chorus or more!!"
carrot: Bec is it ever tough being the only girl in the band (sorry if you get asked this heaps).
rebecca haschek says, "Sometimes the boys talk about boy stuff, and so I just kind of block my ears. there are some things a girl shouldn't have to hear..."
rebecca haschek says, "Apart from that, I love touring with the guys. I was never into the really girly stuff anyway."
jared haschek says, "Hey, I saw you in a skirt on the weekend. You can't deny it..."
This isn't the
end. Keep an eye out for the whole transcript which should be on-line
soon!
